Snoop Dogg Voices (Call Of Duty Ghosts)
It seems strange that Call of Duty: Ghosts gave players the chance to add Snoop Dogg to their game, but that is exactly what happened. Players could get Snoop Dogg’s voice describing pretty much everything that happened in their multiplayer games for just $3.
Even though this might seem like an odd fix made by the community, it was actually a piece of DLC that was added to the game. The official description of the DLC said that Snoop Dogg’s addition “gives your combat style some street cred” because he talks about firefights, enemy activity, and kill streaks. “What up?” Ghosts’ campaign was great, and there was a lot of other great material for players to enjoy.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion came out before expansion packs became a standard part of almost every big game. So, Bethesda hadn’t quite figured out how to make DLC worth the money for players. The first DLC for the game didn’t add new campaigns, tasks, or even weapons. Instead, it added horse armor.
The horse armor, which could be made of either elven or steel, would make the horse’s life bar go up without doing much else besides changing the way the horse looked. The pack came with eight different types of horse armor, but that didn’t really make up for the fact that the whole DLC was just about protecting horses. Still, this hasn’t hurt Oblivion’s great image among fans.
The Champions Ballad (Breath Of The Wild)
In the end, The Champions Ballad was a great piece of DLC that gave Legend of Zelda players exactly what they wanted out of extra material for Breath of the Wild. There were new tasks and dungeons, more story, and even more outfits for Link. There were new weapons and prizes, but there was one odd thing that made the whole thing feel like an experiment.
When players finished the new dungeons and story that the DLC added to the game, they got an extra prize that many people thought was strange. It was a motorcycle called the Master Cycle 0 Motorcycle. It was supposed to be a new way to get around in the future. Even though it was crazy to see something so modern in a Legend of Zelda game like Breath of the Wild, many people started to wonder if this was a test to see if a Zelda game could ever go into the future.
Enter The Dominatrix (Saints Row 4)
One of the weirdest DLC stories ever seen in a video game is in Enter the Dominatrix. But the story of how this DLC came to be is even weirder. Fans begged for this to happen after it was first mentioned on the Saints Row website as an April Fool’s joke in 2012. After being introduced and then canceled so the team could work on it as part of Saint’s Row IV instead of III, the DLC was finally released as a standalone for the fourth game.
In the story in Enter the Dominatrix, an AI named the Dominatrix takes over Zinyak’s kingdom after he is killed. This DLC was very tongue-in-cheek and knew how silly it was, and players loved every minute of it.
The Midnight Show (The Saboteur)
The Saboteur is a game that takes place in France during World War II. Fans and reviewers liked the neo-noir open-world style when it came out in 2009. There were a lot of things to keep people interested, like the seedy bars and clubs where the player character could end up.
The Midnight Show DLC, on the other hand, was confusing because it didn’t really add much to Penalty Kick Online besides taking the shirts off almost all of the house girls. So, this DLC was basically a nudity add-on. At the time, it was very controversial, and it’s still one of the weirder examples of DLC in a big game.
True Ending (Asura’s Wrath)
Asura’s Wrath is another big game whose DLC caused a lot of trouble when it came out. Asura’s Wrath came out in 2012, and it was about a demigod who wanted to get even with the other demigods who had betrayed him. Capcom was able to leave the last part out of the base game because it was made up of separate parts.
It was a very controversial choice to make Episode IV, which had the “true ending” of the game, available as DLC. Asura’s Wrath was already expensive, so fans were angry when they heard they would have to pay even more to see what the developers thought was the game’s real final ending.
3C3C1D119440927 (Nier Automata)
Nier Automata has the strangest DLC name, but what was in the DLC was also one of the strangest things players have seen. Nier Automata has a very unique style and some great characters, but the DLC made players do a very strange task to get new outfits and content.
After going through the different coliseums and trials in the DLC, players can unlock a fight with the president of Square Enix, Yosuke Matsuda, and the head of Platinum Games, Kenichi Sato. This fight is one of the strangest in the history of video games.
