Family trying to rebuild after losing home and pets in Cottonwood fire

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Lots of family members had to flee their residences Saturday as the hearth promptly in Reno County. One of these households belonged to the Simply click relatives. John and Wendy Click missing all the things in the Cottonwood complex fire.

John Simply click suggests, “I explained to my spouse to go to the pasture where there was no grass. It was all sand mainly because every little thing else was on fireplace.”

John’s wife, Wendy, was household with their 3 canine, vehicle-significantly less when flames threatened their property. John raced home from do the job to preserve his wife, driving by way of barricades, thick smoke, and partitions of fireplace.

Sisters Ashley and Amy, daughters of John and Wendy, are hoping to choose up the items of the daily life they applied to know as they assistance their relatives make from scratch whilst their mom’s in now the healthcare facility.

Ashley Villanueva, daughter of John and Wendy, suggests, “There is very little still left, and it is unreal to appear at it, and what applied to be there, you simply cannot even photo it, what it applied to glance like. It is unrecognizable.”

“The smoke inhalation and just the trauma of her viewing and witnessing almost everything and battling for her existence and staying trapped by herself. She did not know if she was even likely to make it,” suggests Amy.

The family states the mixture of smoke and trauma induced Wendy to put up with a coronary heart attack. She is at Hutchinson Regional Healthcare Center awaiting heart surgical procedures now. The Clicks states they are just grateful that all people in the family manufactured it out. The household suggests they did not have dwelling coverage, and since of this, there is a GoFundMe established up for the click relatives.
