Schooling Dept. cancels $1.5 billion of scholar debt for Westwood School attendees

CHICAGO (CBS) – Practically 80,000 individuals who attended Westwood School are getting a clear slate.

The Division of Schooling is canceling $1.5 billion in scholar debt.

Greater than 12,000 of these debtors have ties to Illinois.

On Tuesday, U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Illinois) known as out the “predatory #4profit schools that lie & lead Illinoisans into mountains of scholar debt with no viable diploma or profession path.”

Again in 2012, former Illinois Legal professional Common Lisa Madigan sued the school for deceiving college students about its prison justice program, which isn’t acknowledged by Illinois regulation enforcement businesses.
